Alicia Carstairs had it all—or so she thought. Financially secure, well brought up, engaged to a prominent young man. So why was she on a train headed west in the hopes of securing a position as a governess?
Aaron Higgins thought he was happy until all his friends, his brother and now Little Beaver, too, were married and having children. He wrote to Mrs. Gantley, asking for a bride.
Miss Carstairs ends up in Clover Springs, offending everyone—most of all, Aaron. He wants to put her on the next train out of town. Or does he?

Talk about a FANTASTIC book with a storyline I could not stop reading! From prejudice (that still goes on to this day!) for all colors and nationalities, to love, anger, hate! I experienced laughter and fear, joy and sorrow reading this book. Rachel Wesson has a definite keeper on her hands. Not only is this a great series; but, this book pulled all of our “friends” from the past together. Clover Springs is such a terrific town that it makes the reader wish we lived in one today. I love the story of the orphans, as well as Father Molloy and Wilma; but, I can also see possible future stories which always excites me. Whether I read this as part of a series, or a stand alone, it made no difference because I, as a reader, could not put the book down. What was the whole story behind Alicia? It wasn’t until the end the reader found out. Does her feelings regarding races and colors, bred because of her upbringing, continue; or does she slowly change her mind? Does a past love come between Alicia and her current love? Does she ever let her current love know her fears and feelings? As for Aaron, does manly pride stand in the way of true happiness? Does he ever marry a mail order bride? I couldn’t stop reading until all of these questions were answered. I definitely recommend this book as a MUST read for all age groups, including teenagers!Product details

Christmas in Clover Springs Clover Springs Mail Order Brides Book 8 edition by Rachel Wesson Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews
I chose this rating because the storyline was predictable though still interesting. The new fe!ale character started out being an offensive and insulting pain to everyone she met. But like the other stories, she was able to change for the better. I have enjoyed the series thus far.
What a wonderful story that stirs up your emotions as you read through the trials and tribulations of a small orphanage in a small town. Yet another love at first sight, happy ending story, as each book is.
This was a great series. You get to meet different people and see how some of the world problems have been around so long. It address the problem of being racist on many different levels and how deeply you can offend people.
I absolutely loved this series. I don't want it to end. I would love ❤️ to see more or a spinoff. I have to say, you are a great 👍 writer of days gone by and able to take your readers away to a time, although a very hard time, to be able to see the blessings in then and now that we to all quickly forget in the good and bad in our lives.
We learn more about the past charachters and meet a new fiesty lady. With her own problems back at home and veiws that do not reflect the previous characters, Alicia has to decide what she is going to do and if she can stay in Clover Springs! ***There were a few places that I felt the times didn't match with the previous book.
I must agree-the best visit to Clover Springs yet!
I didn't like Alicia at the beginning of the book, but loved watching her evolve. She realized she could think and act for herself-not "parrot" the teachings of others. Poor Aaron, not sure if he wants a wife, but falls for someone who is so very narrow minded! The interaction and growth of the two main characters was wonderfully written.
I love returning to Clover Springs, and "visiting" with old friends from the previous books.
Christmas in Clover Springs by Rachel Wesson is Book 8 of the Clover Springs Mail Order Brides series. This one is about Alecia and how she realized what she had been taught to believe about people was not right. She came from Boston to Clover Springs by a chance meeting with Father Malloy on the train. One kind deed changed her life completely for the better.
I read this in one morning! I liked how Alecia and Father Malloy brought 30 more orphans to Clover Springs. This was predictable, but I still enjoyed it very much. I liked seeing how Alecia’s prejudice fell away once she got to know people and re-evaluated her beliefs. I also liked the surprise twist at the end.
